Good things:

• My friend Kara visited last weekend by surprise. We are birthday twins (her birthday is one day before mine), so this was well-timed, and she got to come ride Lady with me.
• Relatedly, my birthday is Friday! I’ll be 32. I’m happy about all of this.
• My writing studio is done! DONE! All I have to do is move stuff in.
• The garden is coming along nicely.
• It’s not miserably hot this week.
• The hawks are still out in the yard, and now they periodically (visibly; I assume they always did this) eat smaller birds and mammals. Good for them.
• Owls are great.
