I think a fair number of people have heard or shared this proverb lately (which I’ve seen attributed, variously, as a “Mexican proverb” and a “Greek text” so who knows), but here is what I was thinking about when drawing this strip:

“They tried to bury us. They didn’t know that we were seeds.”

In terms of the visuals, I don’t know. I realize it’s chaotic and perhaps lacks direction, and midway through drawing it I texted a photo, in tears, to my friend Branden, who told me it was ok, and it was also ok if a piece of art I was making reflected the confusion of my own emotions, and she was right, so I finished, and here we are.

Not quite what I had in mind, but I am trying to move forward.
