That’s an ok baby, I guess.

One reason I enjoy writing comics is that I can make use of lines that originally appeared in my fiction, but got elbowed out during the process of revision (The Story being more important than The Line is something most writers have trouble with, I think). For some reason, I find the concept of a merely adequate baby (or “moderately acceptable,” as the case may be) really funny. What, in the name of god, is an inadequate baby?

In other news, my friend Joey Bates, a Seattle-based artist, recently had some work placed on the excellent booooooom.com. It’s worth checking out!
