On unbeing

You know that dream where you think you’re awake, and a dark figure gets closer and closer to you, and you don’t want to open your eyes because you’re afraid you’ll see it, and you know that’s crazy but you just can’t help it, and at that exact moment (in the real world, the waking world) your dog starts losing his mind, barking at god knows what?

Yeah, me neither.

It may be evident from the above shadowy stag that I’ve been listening to a lot of On Being podcasts (or maybe it’s not! But I have been). That podcast was recommended to me by my friend Becky Alprin, and now I’m recommending her art to you.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go eat frozen yogurt at the Googleplex (from whence I am working this week – already evident if you follow my food brags on Twitter).

(Though let me take this moment to thank everyone who has congratulated me about my forthcoming book. I am thrilled; I love you guys; there are many positive emotions & I’m experiencing quite a lot of them.)
