Modern dating, I’ll never understand it

By this time next week, the election will be over, and hopefully (DEAR GOD I HOPE) Hillary Clinton will be the first female President of the United States. That’s got to be worth something.

(Apparently it’s National Stress Awareness Day? Which, yes, I think we’re all very aware of our stress, thank you.)

In other news, you know that chapbook I’m doing with Diagram/New Michigan Press? The one called Apocalypse How? An Existential Bestiary? Well, as luck would have it, you can pre-order it now! This would be a delightful way to support me & the press, and do some early holiday shopping (or buy yourself a present! You deserve it.) You can also get a chapbook subscription that includes all 5 chapbooks in the series! (Only one is mine, but they are all sure to be great.)

Since my novel is out in paperback, you can also buy that as a holiday (or self-) gift, but I digress.

I would also like to give a shout-out to Kelly Luce’s debut novel Pull Me Under, which is thrilling, psychologically acute, and out this week. I read an early copy a couple of months ago, and was very drawn to the way the book plays with our sense of Japanese horror movies, femininity, childhood, power, and family. It’s creepy, but also very human, and I strongly recommend it.
