You think I’d tell you? Everything?

Today I am all places I’d rather be:

my dear friend’s new apartment by the sea

biking a long path by old stone houses

in the other room working on my novel

swimming.

But I am here, and going about my life as a person must, doing the things that keep me afloat. (Example from later today: my taxes.) Things that I am in the middle of that are good:

writing my novel

Carole Maso’s Defiance

this coffee

anything spoken in the voice of Jeanette Winterson
