– You can support a great new literary magazine, Waxwing, and get a ticket to their issue 1 release party at the same time!
– My friend & MFA colleague Dexter Booth’s first book of poems, Scratching the Ghost, was just released by Graywolf. The book won the Cave Canem Prize, so you know it’s high quality. (Also because I am recommending it.)
– New issue of Yew Journal! Remember, they’re still looking for submissions from innovative female poets.
– A new DINOSAUR was discovered. And he is named the “king of gore.”
– This weekend I went to the Dia de los Muertos parade in Tucson, and was blown away by the spirit & enthusiasm everyone put into it. The event was pretty emotional, but I’d say a high point was seeing an incredibly true-to-life Weeping Angel, who only tried to grab me once, when I blinked. (LIKE A FOOL.)
